It’s Going to Be a Very “Go Deacs” December!

Wake Forest Athletics…all we can say is WOW!

Quick recap of this past weekend – first, on Saturday, The Wake Forest Men’s Soccer team beat Virginia Tech 2-0 to advance to the Semi Finals of the NCAA Championship in Houston, TX.  Then, the excitement continued on Sunday when the Military Bowl in Annapolis, MD announced Wake Forest as its ACC pick to play Temple University on December 27.

So naturally, it was time for us to hit the road.

Owen and the Streakin’ Deacon accompanied some of our friends in Athletics up to the Military bowl on Tuesday for a site visit.  The folks up in Annapolis LOVED seeing the Streakin’ Deacon pull up fight song blaring.  Despite some setbacks with the weather (fingers crossed for NO RAIN on the 27th!), the trip was an absolute success. After a quick cleaning, fuel up, and reload yesterday afternoon, the SD hit the road again this morning – destination, Houston, TX.  Owen was unable to make it this weekend, so fellow Alumni Engagement staffers (and pro RV drivers) Kathleen Garber and Gray Allen joined me for this 1,111 mile journey to cheer on Wake Men’s Soccer in their fight for the College Cup.  We’re girl powering our way to Texas, y’all! We’re thinking the Streakin’ Deacon will fit right in in Houston…isn’t everything bigger in Texas?
