June 2025 Schedule Overview
Thursday, June 26 (optional)
For those who may be arriving to town a day early, join us for a tour of Wake Downtown and light refreshments. Additional information will be shared regarding parking.
If you are unable to join us on Thursday, there are materials at the Wake Downtown lobby desk and QR codes throughout the building which lead to videos and additional information regarding the courses and research taking place here. Consider stopping by on your way out of town on Friday! Please visit the Wake Downtown website for more information on self-guided tours.
Friday, June 27
Byrum Welcome Center (Admissions Building)
Check in at the welcome table in the lobby of Byrum Welcome Center and pick up your name tag and admissions materials. Reunite with classmates and meet other Wake Foresters. Refreshments and a light breakfast provided.
Kulynych Auditorium, Byrum Welcome Center
Opening plenary session includes a welcome from the Offices of Alumni Engagement and Undergraduate Admissions, fun trivia and icebreakers, insights into the college admissions process, advice for how students can make their Wake Forest experience their own, and time for Q&A.
Students remain in Kulynych Auditorium while parents choose one of the parent sessions.
Best. Essay. Ever! (Students only)
Kulynych Auditorium, Byrum Welcome Center
Divided into small groups, students will learn some helpful essay tips from selecting the topic to the final proofing – and all points in-between! This session is in a case-study format and will be followed by an opportunity for students to ask questions.
Financial Aid and Scholarships (Parent Session Option 1)
Pugh Auditorium, Benson University Center
Parents will be given an overview of the financial aid and scholarship processes at Wake Forest with time for Q & A.
College Parenting (Parent Session Option 2)
Location TBA
Learn more about how parents and families can best support their students as they prepare for and begin their first year of college. Dr. Betsy Chapman (’92, MA ’94), Executive Director of Family Communications and author of The Daily Deac, shares words of wisdom, followed by time for Q & A.
“The Pit” Dining Hall & Reynolda Hall Green Room
Attendees are invited to eat at campus’s main dining hall, “The Pit,” located in Reynolda Hall. Be sure to pick up a meal ticket at the morning check-in (the cost of lunch is included in your registration).
Before or after lunch, be sure to stop by the Green Room (on the main quad level of Reynolda Hall) to visit with campus partners and learn more about opportunities for students including Global Programs and Studies, ZSR Library, Women’s Center, LGBTQ+ Center, Office of Personal & Career Development, WakerSpace, and TBD. You can also take time for the Deacon Shop.
Meet on Hearn Plaza (the Quad) in front of Reynolda Hall
Attendees will break into small group tours led by student tour guides. The tours will start in front of Reynolda Hall and finish at Byrum Welcome Center.

Enjoy refreshments when you return from your walking tour and join us back in the auditorium for Q&A with a panel of current students, moderated by Alumni Council President and current parent, Shelley Holden (’00, JD ’03, P ’29).
