Charlotte, NC Election 2012: What Matters in Presidential Elections? Tuesday, August 28, 6 p.m. at the Wake Forest Charlotte Center, 200 N. College St., Suite 150.
Join us for an evening with Katy Harriger, department chair and professor of political science. Harriger will discuss various factors that will have an impact on voters’ decision making in November, including the role of the conventions, the debates, swing states, the state of the economy, the electoral college, and perceptions of the candidates. She’ll offer the best and worst case scenarios for both sides, but she will not predict a winner! Food and drinks will be served. Register now.
New York City Race for the Cure Sunday, September 9, 9:00 a.m. in Central Park.
The NYC Club has signed up for its fourth year to take part in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Last year the team was fifth overall for top fundraising universities and hopes to be even higher this year! Note that there is no minimum amount required to fund raise. There will be a post race brunch for all interested participants. Friends, family and supporters are all welcome. To join the team, or contribute to the cause, visit the team page. Contributions for this race will fund national peer-reviewed breast cancer research programs and breast health services in the five boroughs of New York City, on Long Island, and in Westchester and Rockland counties.

Richmond, VA Kick-Off Event! Dining with the Deacs: Food Truck Court Friday, September 28, 6:30 p.m. at the Virginia Historical Society (Parking Lot), 428 N Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220.
Richmond has a burgeoning food truck scene. Meet up with fellow Deacon alumni and friends in the area to try local tacos, paninis, Thai and more. The group will start to gather at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Virginia Historical Society. Bring a blanket, and look for the trucks and black and gold balloons.
